Bathroom tiling needs more than neat rows of tiles. The background, the layout, the edges and the wet areas all decide how the finished room looks and how it holds up. KS Elite Tiling tiles bathroom walls, floors and shower areas across Croydon, and most of the time on a bathroom goes into the preparation before the first tile is fixed.
Small rooms show everything, so we plan before we start. We work out how the tile size, the sanitaryware, the niches, the trims and the focal lines sit together, then set out from there. The result is a balanced finish with sensible joints, tidy transitions and as little disruption as the job allows.
We check the starting surface first. Loose tiles, damaged backgrounds, movement, uneven walls and failing grout all point to work that has to happen before anything new goes up, and we tell you if we find any of it. Tiling over a weak surface hides the problem for a while rather than removing it.
Then we set out the room. We plan the layout to avoid awkward slivers, keep the most visible lines straight, and decide how the tiles meet the bath, the shower, the basin, the doorway and the floor. That planning matters most with patterned, rectified or larger porcelain tiles, where a small error at one end of a wall is obvious by the other.
We tile complete showers, and we also take on focused bathroom tile repair and shower tile repair. Where the tiles are still sound but the joints have failed or have become difficult to keep clean, we will often suggest grout repair or regrouting rather than replacing the whole surface.
Which of those makes sense depends on what sits behind the visible finish, so we look before we quote. One chipped tile is a different job from several loose ones or a crack that keeps returning. We separate cosmetic damage from a background or movement problem first, and tell you which one you have.
We tile bathrooms that range from compact flats to period terraces and larger family homes. Access, the existing background and the number of corners and boxed-in services all change how we plan the work, so we look at the room rather than pricing from a square-metre rate.
Most of these bathrooms are in occupied homes, and often they are the only bathroom in the house. We agree the sequence with you before we start, protect the working area and clear up at the end of the day. Send the room size, the current condition, your tile choice and any fixed dates with your enquiry so the first conversation is a useful one.

Every project is different. These answers set expectations before the room and tiles are assessed.
Yes, we do both. The preparation and the fixing method change depending on the background and the tile you have chosen, so the walls and the floor in the same bathroom are often prepared differently.
Sometimes. An isolated damaged tile may be replaceable if a suitable match is available and the surrounding background is sound. Several loose or cracked tiles may need a wider assessment first.
It depends on the area, the preparation, the pattern, the tile format and the drying time between stages. We can give you a far more useful programme once we have seen the room and understood the scope.
Send a few photos, rough measurements and the tile you are looking at. Quotes are free, and most jobs can be priced from that without anyone coming out.
